The Effect of Take and Give Type Cooperative Learning Model on the Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts of Grade III Students of SDN 33 SAWAHAN, Padang City

Education is one of the basic needs and must be obtained by every human being. By obtaining education, humans can develop their potential so that they are able to face all forms of change due to technological advances. Therefore, in Indonesia, education is one of the human rights that must be fulfilled. This is stated in the 1945 Constitution, article 31 paragraph 1, which states "every citizen has the right to receive education". To implement this constitution, the government has created a 12-year compulsory education program, namely six years in elementary school, three years in junior high school and three years in high school. Mathematics aims to train students' ability to think logically, systematically and critically. This ability will be useful for students in facing changes that occur in the ever-evolving world. Marfu'ah, et al. (2022:50) stated that one of the goals of learning mathematics is to improve thinking skills, where mathematical thinking skills are mental activities that form the core of thinking in the process of decision-making, and problem solving, where the three processes are interrelated. Nugroho, et al. (2019:21) also argue that through mathematics, students can practice logical, analytical, abstract and creative thinking. Mathematical measurement material is the process of assigning numbers to an object, property, attribute, or behavior. Measurement can also be interpreted as an activity to collect data quantitatively. The type of research conducted is experimental research using quantitative data analysis. Sugiano (2010:107) states that "experimental research can be interpreted as a research method used to find the effect of certain treatments on others in controlled conditions". In this study, two groups were used, namely the control class and the experimental class. In the experimental class, the treatment was given in the form of a cooperative learning model of the Take and Give type, while in the control class, the learning model commonly used by teachers was used. it can be concluded that the average value of the experimental class using the Take and Give Type model is 77. while the average value of the control class without using the Take and Give type model is 48.63. Hypothesis testing using the t-test with a significance level of 0.05 shows that the results of the hypothesis test obtained 0. Because the significance value of 0.000 <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference or there is an influence of the use of the take and give type cooperative learning model on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of grade 3 students of SDN 33 Sawahan Padang. Thus, H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Based on this, it shows that there is an influence of the Take and Give model on the learning outcomes of grade III students of SDN 33 Sawahan Padang City.##submission.additionalFiles##
