The theory used in this study is the Pearson Product Moment Theory developed by Karl Pearson. This research is motivated by the low Indonesian language learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Nan Balimo, Solok City, which is suspected to be related to their learning interest. Observations indicate that the learning process is still teacher-centered with conventional methods, making students less active and quickly bored. Additionally, the limited availability of textbooks and the minimal use of engaging learning media also contribute to the low interest of students in learning. This impacts the lack of student participation in discussions, low attention to the material, and ultimately affects their academic achievement. Based on these conditions, this research aims to analyze the relationship between learning interest and Indonesian language learning outcomes to provide insights for improving the quality of learning in elementary schools. Learning is a process of behavioral change through experience and interaction with the environment (Sahasulwane, 2014; Setiawan, 2017). Therefore, engaging and interactive learning is necessary for students to understand the material well. Indonesian language, as a compulsory subject, plays a crucial role in communication and critical thinking. Learning interest, as a psychological factor influencing learning outcomes, is affected by the relevance of the material to students' needs (Ariani, 2022; Kusumo, 2016; Syakur, 2017). Low interest directly impacts learning outcomes, which include cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects (Erita, 2022; Yolanda et al., 2023). This quantitative research with a correlational method examines the relationship between learning interest and Indonesian language learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Nan Balimo, Solok City, totaling 21 students. Sampling was done using nonprobability sampling with a saturated sample. Data were collected through a learning interest questionnaire and the learning outcomes scores of the saving material in the even semester of 2024/2025, analyzed using SPSS Version 27. The analysis results show that 29.37% of learning interest is in the very poor category, while 71.29% of learning outcomes are in the fair category. The correlation test yields a correlation coefficient of 0.917 (very strong), thus rejecting H0 and accepting H1, indicating a significant relationship between learning interest and Indonesian language learning outcomes of students.
