The importance of education in the development and growth process of a country. Syahbana, et al. (2024:27-30) stated that "by involving education, the younger generation will gain the knowledge and skills needed in the future." The curriculum is a very important part of the education system that often does not get adequate attention. As the core of education, the curriculum needs to be evaluated innovatively, dynamically, and routinely following the times. The implementation of the independent curriculum is carried out to measure the success or failure of a curriculum according to the design with what happens in the classroom. The purpose of the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum is to Analyze the Understanding of Grade V Teachers towards the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SDN 01 Ulak Karang Selatan Padang to Find Out the Obstacles of Grade V Teachers to the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum at SDN 01 Ulak Karang Selatan Padang.In IPAS learning, various aspects are involved in achieving learning objectives, one of which is the use of instructional media. However, in reality, many schools still lack adequate use of learning media. A quality learning process requires supporting factors such as media that facilitate teaching and learning activities. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, namely obtaining a general description related to elementary school teachers' understanding of the implementation of the independent curriculum. Descriptive is the search for data regarding the correct interpretation to create a systematic, factual, and actual picture or description of a situation or event. The instruments used in this study were interview guide sheets and documentation. Based on the results of the research analysis, it can be concluded that teachers' understanding of the implementation of the independent curriculum at SDN 01 Ulak Karang Selatan Padang is quite good, teachers understand that this curriculum provides more freedom in designing learning according to students' needs. The independent curriculum emphasizes flexible learning, student-centered learning, and various methods such as project-based learning and discussion. The obstacles faced by teachers in implementing the independent curriculum include a lack of understanding of the concept, limited teaching materials, and a lack of adequate and ongoing training. According to Widyaningrum (2024), the results show that teachers' understanding of the implementation of the independent curriculum has a fairly good understanding.Referensi
