Abstrak

The background of this research because the process of learning mathematics is done generally centered on the teachers, the lack of activity of students in asking about the material that is not yet understood and the weak ability of students to communicate ideas and ideas both orally and in writing that leads to low learning outcomes obtained by students. To overcome these problems, researchers conducted a study to implement cooperative learning Numbered Heads Together using Probing techniques in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine how student's learning activities and to find out if the results of student's mathematics learning by applying cooperative learning Numbered Heads Together using Probing technique is better than the results of student's mathematics learning by applying conventional learning. This research is an experimental study. Population in this research  was all of students  at VII class SMP Negeri 7 Kerinci. Sampling was done with a random sampling technique. The data in this study are the data of learning activities and student's mathematics learning outcomes data. Learning activity data obtained from the observation sheet. The results of student learning activities for each meeting is likely to increase. Then the learning outcomes data on samples obtained from the final test scores were given to the two classes of samples. Thus, the hypothesis is accepted that learning outcomes of students learning mathematics implement cooperative learning Numbered Heads Together using the probing technique is better than the learning outcomes of students learning mathematics applying conventional learning at class student of VII SMP Negeri 7 Kerinci.
