MAKNA IDIOM DALAM TABLOID BINTANG INDONESIA SEBUAH TINJAUAN SEMANTIK

Abstrak

Abstract

The background of the research is the use of the idiom that found in Tabloid Bintang Indonesia. The aim of this research is describing the idiom and meaning. Theories that used in this research are the approaches according to the linguists in Subroto’s book and the other supporting books. This research is the qualitative research and the result is the verbal data, writing and oral, that can be observed. The method is desriptive method with collect, identify, analyze the data and make the conclusion. Object of the research is Tabloid Bintang Indonesia 1139-1147 edition. The result of the research found 50 idioms that devided into each edition 1139-1147 (first week odf April until the fourth week of May). There are  4 data in the first week of April. There are  10 data in the second week of April. There are  6 data in the third week of April. There are  2 data in the fourth week of April. There are  9 data in the fifth week of April. There are  2 data in the first week of May. There are  4 data in the second week of May. There are  4 data in the third week of May. There are  9 data in the fourth week of May. According to the analysis of data and content, we can conclude that the idiom that used in all the news aimed to make the language of the news softer with different meaning of each idiom. So, the object of the news would not feel bad with that news itself.
