KALIMAT EMOSIONAL DAN MAKNA KONOTASI TOKOH-TOKOH UTAMA DALAM NOVEL “RANTAU 1 MUARA” KARYA AHMAD FUADI

Abstrak

ABSTRACT

The objective of this research was to describe the emotional sentences and whatever connotative meaning illustrated on the novel Rantau 1 Muara.  This research focused to emotional sentences and connotative meaning illustrated on the novel Rantau 1 Muara. The emotional sentence and connotative meaning on the novel Rantau 1 Muara were angry emotional, affection, afraid, happy and hate. While in the   connotative meaning there were good connotative meaning or positive and bad connotative meaning or negative. This research used theory of the emotional and their types stated by Mudjiran, the connotative meaning and their types was stated by Tarigan. The types of this research was qualitative by using descriptive method, are the collection data, organization, classification and analysis as well as interpretation of data. The result of data analysis can be concluded that on the novel of  Rantau 1 Muara was found about 97 data consisted of 70 emotional sentences data and 27 data of connotative meanings. The emotional utterance such as, angry were 8 data, affection were 11 data, afraid were 14 data, happy emotion were 27, happy emotion were 11 data there is nothing of hate emotion. And in the connotative meaning: positive connotation divided into two high connotations were 8 data and politeness connotation were 2 data. The negative connotation divided into three: annoying connotation were 2 data, cruel connotation were 4 data, and savage connotation were 11 data. Based on the explanation above can be summarized that the emotional utterance was more than  connotative meaning, the frequency of emotional utterance was happy emotion, while in the connotation have frequency presented was savage connotation showed in the main character on the novel of Rantau 1 Muara
