KEMAMPUAN MENULIS PUISI SISWA KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 22 PADANG

Abstract

This study is motivated by lack of students ability in writing the poetry and aimed to described the students poetry in the area: the use of image that the student of SMP 22’s students of grade VII use in writing the poetry. Theories that are used: (1) Definition of writing the poetry by Walluyo, (2) Components of poetry building by Syofiani, (3) definition of poetry, image and types of image by Pradopo. This study is a qualitative research which use descriptive method. The object of the research is the grade VII students of SMP 22 Padang. Data collection technique is done by giving the exercise to the student to write the poetry about the beautiful scenery and then collect the result. The ability to write the poetry of grade VII students of SMP 22 Padang can be categorized as”good”. The most using image is visual image and the less using image is smelling image.
