PENINGKATAN MINAT BELAJAR SISWA KELAS IV PADA PEMBELAJARAN IPS MELALUI MODEL WORD SQUARE DI SDN 26 PELANGAI KECIL KABUPATEN PESISIR SELATAN
Abstrak
This research is motivated by the lack of student interest in learning social studies , which have an impact on students' test scores were low daily . Then the researchers used a model of Word Square to increase student interest in this aspect of asking , answering questions , and doing exercises or assignments . The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in student interest in learning social studies fourth grade at SDN 26 Pelangai Kecil . This type of research is action research in two cycles , each cycle consisting of two meetings . Subjects were fourth grade students of SDN 26 Pelangai Kecil , totaling 20 people . The research instrument was teacher observation sheet activities , student interest observation sheet , questionnaire sheets , and achievement test . The results of the analysis of student interest in cycle I and II , the percentage obtained as follows: first cycle students' interest in asking a number of 36.67 % , an increase of 70 % in the second cycle ; student interest in answering questions first cycle 44.44 % , an increase in cycle II 75 % ; student interest in doing exercise first cycle was 70.83 % , an increase of 100 % in the second cycle . In the first cycle , the percentage of mastery learning students with a 55 % average increase in cycle II 62.50 80 % with an average of 79.75 . So this study concluded , learning social studies using the model of Word Square can increase student interest . Based on the results of the study suggested that teachers can use Word Square models to increase student interest.
