Abstrak

The low reading skills in elementary school students carefully Kartika 1-10 Padang caused by the presentation of the learning method is more theory through lectures . This study aimed to describe the increase in the ability to read carefully the Grade IVB using cooperative learning model Scramble at SD Kartika 1-10 Padang . This research is Classroom Action Research ( CAR) conducted in two cycles . Learning model used in this study were Scramble . The research data obtained by using observations of student activity sheet through 3 stages namely stage prabaca activities , saatbaca and pascabaca . The ability to read carefully the students on stage prabaca increased 20 % from 56 % in the first cycle to 76 % in the second cycle , the ability to read carefully the students on stage 24 of saatbaca increased 60% in the first cycle to 84 % in the second cycle , the ability of students to read carefully pascabaca stage increased 16 % from 72 % in the first cycle to 88 % in the second cycle , and the ability to read carefully in classical students increased 20.8 % from 60.8 % in the first cycle to 81.6 % in the second cycle . Learning outcomes of students' ability to read carefully based on the value of the daily tests ( UH ) increased by 32 % from 52 % in the first cycle to 84 % in the second cycle . Based on data analysis , it can be concluded that the use of cooperative learning model to improve literacy Scramble carefully IVB grade students in elementary Kartika 1-10 Padang.
