Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of student learning outcomes in social studies learning, especially in the fifth grade Elementary School 37 South Sumatra regency of Lahat. The purpose of this study is: 1) To describe the upgrading of fifth grade students know the meaning of the cognitive aspects of heritage and historical figures during the Hindu, Buddhist and Islam in Indonesia, 2) To describe the upgrading of fifth grade students on the affective aspects encapsulate, express opinions, and concludes the lesson. Classroom action research was carried out with fifth grade students study subjects totaling 26 people. Research instrument in this study is the assessment of learning outcomes sheet, observation sheets implementation of teacher learning, student achievement test and field notes. Based on the results of this research is that the average cognitive aspects of student learning outcomes 65.38% in the first cycle increased to 76.92% in the second cycle . while the affective aspects of 75.7% in the first cycle increased to 82.5% in the second cycle. From these results it can be concluded that the IPS learning through True or False strategies can improve student learning outcomes, especially in knowing the subject matter, encapsulate, express opinions and conclude the lesson.
