PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN BERBICARA SISWA KELAS VII DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE TEAMS GAMESTOURNAMENT (TGT) DI SMP NEGERI 1 SUNGAI RUMBAI KABUPATEN DHARMASRAYA

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to describe the increase in students' speaking skills class VII ¹ with methods of cooperative learning teams games tournaments in SMP I River Tassel Dharmasraya , include (1) pronunciation and intonation , (2) sentence structure , (3) fluency , and (4) loudness of speech. Theories and concepts used in this study is Abdurahman and Elya Ratna ( 2003) for data analysis , Ermawati Arif and Munaf Yarni (2003) for theory talk , Robert E. Slavin (2009) learning model used , and Suharsimi Arikunto (2010) for research methods .This type of research is action research with a sample size of 30 people. Research procedures conducted in two cycles , the first cycle and held two meetings held twice a second cycle of face to face meetings.Each cycle is carried out through the groove of planning , implementation , observation and reflection . The results of the data analysis showed that the ability to speak VII.A grade students through cooperative learning model teams games tournaments (TGT) increased this can be seen in (1) pronunciation and intonation up 28 % , (2) sentence structure rose 18.7 %. (3) the smooth rose 10 % , and (4) the loudness of the sound rose 18.67 % .Based on the results of this study concluded that the cooperative learning model Teams Games Tournament (TGT)canimprove their speaking ability .
