Abstrak

The purpose of this research is to improve the learning activities and learning outcomes in the process of learning science students using mind mapping method in class Parak Poor SDN 26 Padang. This research is classroom action research, this study uses quantitative and qualitative data that is used sheets observation and tests . While the students were taken as a subject of study are all fifth grade students of SDN 26 Parak Poor totaling 17 people 11 men and 6 women . The instrument used in this study observation sheet student learning activities teacher observation sheet implementation of learning, and achievement test. The results of this study indicate that the use of mind mapping method can increase the activity of students drawn from a fun learning atmosphere in the classroom and student learning outcomes that meet predetermined standards. From the research that has been known that the average percentage of students in the activity of asking questions 52,93 % in the first cycle to 76,46 % in the second cycle, the answer 64,70 % in the first cycle increased to 82,35 % in cycle second, the expression increased to 55,88 % and 79,40 % whereas in mind making an average gain of 100 % and learning activities of teachers in the first cycle of 73,60 % to 85,90 % in the second cycle. While the average student learning outcomes in the first cycle of 68,23 into 84,70 in the second cycle in which it is relatively higher than the results of the previous study From the results obtained it can be concluded in this study that the mind map learning method can improve the activity and learning outcomes of students in scienc subjects class V
