LANGUANGE STYLE IN A COLLECTION OF SHORT STORY IN MAGAZINE STORY AT APRIL AND MAY 2013 ISSUE

Abstrak

Abstract

This research is aims to describe the language style contained of short Story in the magazine at April and May 2013 issue. The Story that used is theory Atar Semi (1988) on literature, Gorys Keraf (2006) about the language style, Lexi J Moleong (2012) about qualitative research methodology. This resech is a qualitative by descriptive method. The results showed that there is figurative language style and rhetorical language style. For the language style of figurative is found: language style of companison amount 21, language style of metaphor 4, language style of personification 30, language style of allegorical 2, language style of metonymy 2. While language style rhetorical that consist of language style tautology, language style parallelism, language style of paradoks and language style of litotes the found 1, language style of hyperbole 4, language style of klimax 3. The language style that is not found is language style of plonalisme, and language style of sinekdoke. From several language style that is found it can be concluded that the use of language style of personification is very dominant in the collection of short Story in magazine Story at April and May 2013 issue.
