MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP SISWA KELAS IV DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPS MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARANGROUP INVESTIGATION DI SDN 02 PAMPANGAN PADANG

Abstrak

This research is motivated by the low level of students' understanding of the material in the fourth grade social studies lesson Pampangan SDN 02 Padang. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of students' understanding of concepts in social studies learning through Group Investigation model. This study used a qualitative and quantitative approach, the data collection techniques of observation, documentation, and testing. The data source is the implementation of the learning process by using the IPS Group Investigation model. Subjects were fourth grade students numbering 24 people. The results show the quality of the learning process and the test results increased student learning . Manage the learning activities of teachers in achieving good quality with a percentage of 75 %. Besides, the researchers also found tha : 1 ) students' understanding of a concept translates increased from an average of 72.08 to 80.00 in the first cycle to the second cycle. 2 ) students' understanding of concepts in distinguishing conclusion, conclude the concept, and apply the concept of an average increase of 39 % in the first cycle to 65.50 in the second cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that the students' understanding of concepts in the class IV became elevated in social studies learning through Group Investigation model in SDN 02 Pampangan tends to increase. Thus, it is suggested to teachers in order to use the Group Investigation model of learning in an effort to improve students' understanding of the concept of learning materials IPS.
