Abstrak

Based on the result of interview that I have been done with mathematics teacher class VIII SMPN 4 Payakumbuh  found the information that the teaching learning process of mathematics in the class was still used teacher center. Student tends to be passive, shy in expressing their idea so that teacher become confused, whatever student have already understood or not yet about teaching matter. It caused the teaching learning process not optimal, the comprehension of students concept about subject matter was not good, thus their learning outcome was low. The aim of this research was to investigate the students learning outcome of mathematics trought cooperative model make a match type better than convensional model at the class VIII SMPN 4 Payakumbuh. This research was experimental research and used final test in order to know the students learning outcome of mathematics. It showed that the average of students learning outcome of mathematics at experimental class was better than control class. The conclusion of this research showed that students learning outcome of mathematics taught by cooperative model of make a matchtype better than conventional model.
