Abstrak

One of factor that led many students of class VII in SMPN 34 Padang under the Completeness Minimum Criteria (KKM) is the lack of understanding of mathematical concepts and student learning activities. To solve this problem, an effort that can be done is to apply the learning model Missouri Mathematics Project. The purpose of this study was to determine the development of student activities and student learning outcomes by applying mathematical models Missouri Mathematics Project learning is better than learning outcomes of students who apply mathematics learning in mathematics learning konvensiol class VII in SMPN 34 Padang. This study is experimental. The population is a class VII SMPN 34 Padang in the academic year 2013/2014 which consists of five classes. The sample was drawn using random sampling techniques, class VII1 was selected as the experimental class and the class VII4 as the control class. Formula used to determine the hypothesis t '. After data processing, the data obtained is t '= 3.60 and ttable = 1.698 at the 95% level confidence, so that t'> ttable. Thus the hypothesis is accepted, so it can be concluded that the activity and the learning outcomes of students who apply mathematical models Missouri Mathematics Project model of learning is better than learning outcomes of students who apply mathematics learning in mathematics learning konvensiol class VII in SMPN 34 Padang.
