Abstrak

Mathematica learning outcomes in Pertiwi 2 elementary scholl of padang is not accordance with the expected marked achieving a minimum completeness criteria are applied to the school is 78 . From experience and observation researchers for teaching math at a sixth grade of pertiwi 2 Padang can be argued that the lack of student motivation in learning math, so make the student learning outcomes is low. The study aims to determine whether the use of peer tutoring in mathematics learning can improve student motivation and learning outcomes of sixth grade elementary Earth A 2 Padang . The hypothesis of this study is through the use of peer tutors in learning can improve motivation and learning outcomes of sixth grade students math A SD Pertiwi 2 Padang . This study is a classroom action research that consists of two cycles . Location Earth  SD pertiwi 2 Padang . Sixth grade students study subjects A. Instrument of this study is the observation sheet and achievement test . The survey results revealed that the use of peer tutors in learning can improve motivation and learning outcomes of sixth grade students math A SD Pertiwi 2 Padang . Based on observations found that teachers pay attention to motivation , pleasure in work groups , question, answer the question in the excellent category ( 83.32 % ) completed the task on time in both categories ( 78.07 % ) . And the results of a questionnaire sheet given to students also achieve good category ( 70.60 % ) . Students who achieve a passing grade of 86% . This suggests that the implementation of mathematics learning through peer tutoring method is going well .
