ABSTRAK

 

This research aims to describe the form of speech act in the teaching learning process of Indonesian Language Teacher in SMPN 10 Padang. The theory used in this study is the theory proposed by Chaer, Agustina (2004) and Wijana (1996), namely the speech act, speech act events, and other types of speech acts. The focus of research was to the direct speech act, indirect speech act in the teaching process of Indonesian Language Teacher in SMPN 10 Padang. The type of this research was qualitative by using descriptive method. The collection of data technique used transcript and record the data in the form of writing and analysis them by classification of direct and indirect speech act. In the research there are 140 data shows that the form of direct speech acts numbered 133 the data, 82 data in the form of news sentences conventionally enabled to say something, 27data be enabled interrogative sentence conventionally to ask, and 19, the data in the form of imperative sentences which functioned conventional to invoke, invite, and send. Whereas indirect speech acts, found as many as 7 of the data used in the current teacher rebuked and told the students in the form of interrogative sentences in the form of a figurative meaning that must be implemented intent implied in it. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the form of speech acts used by SMP 10 Indonesian teachers Padang, the learning process is a form of direct speech act.
