PENINGKATAN AKTIVITAS DAN HASIL KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA SISWA KELAS XI SMA NEGERI 1 SUNGAI LIMAU KABUPATEN PADANG PARIAMAN DENGAN TEKNIK BERMAIN PERAN

This research was stimulated by the background of poor students’ activity at the class XI SMAN 1 Sungai Limau of Padang Pariaman Regency in teaching speaking with lower minimal passing grade that have been established 7,5, while the achievement of student 56,5. The aim of this research was to describe the improvement of student’s activity and learning outcome in teaching speaking by using role play technique. This research used method (1) Djamarah Bahri Syaiful and Aswan about teaching learning activity. (2) Arif and Munaf, Arsjad and Mukti, and syofiani about speaking skill. (3) Sudjana and Uno Hamzah, teaching with role playing and (4) Arikunto and Darmansyah about classroom action research. This research was classroom action research. The type of this research was qualitative and quantitative research. Subject of this research was students XI SMAN I Sungai Limau of Padang Pariaman regency period 2013/2014 total 26 people. This research was executed into two cycles. The collection of data in this research used observation sheet, oral test and field notes. Based on the result research can be found that students’ activity average in the first cycle 65 and second cycle 82. Thus, it can be summarized that teaching speaking by using role playing technique can improve students’ activities and learning outcome in speaking skill at the class SMAN I Sungai Limau of Padang Pariaman regency.
