Abstrak

ABSTRACT

This research is motivated by the lack of activity and results graders learn some vital lessons X.1 SMAN 8 Padang in teaching writing skills. The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in activity and learning outcomes of students in learning writing skills, using audiovisual media. The theory used: (1) Ahmadi, Nurudin, and Henry Guntur Tarigan about writing. (2) Ahmadi, Gorys Keraf, and M. Atar Semi on essay. (3) Fajar and Sardiman on learning activities. (4) on the Sudirman audiovisual media, and (5) Suharsimi Arikunto about action research. This research is a class act. This type of research is qualitative and quantitative research. The subjects were students of SMAN 8 Padang X.1 grade school year 2013/2014, amounting to 33 people . The experiment was conducted in two cycles. Collecting data in this study using observation sheet, written test, and field recording. Based on the research results, it can be seen the average value of student activity in the first cycle 74,5% and the second cycle was 80,35% . While the average value of student learning outcomes is the first cycle 76 and second cycle is 82. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of audiovisual media can enhance the activity and student learning outcomes in learning to write essays in class X.1 SMAN 8 Padang.
