HUBUNGAN PARTISIPASI ORANG TUA DENGAN HASIL BELAJAR BIOLOGI SISWA KELAS X DI SMAN 5 PADANG

Abstrak

ABSTRACT

This research aims to know the participation of parents with biology learning outcomes and  correlation of various indicators of parents participation with biology learning outcomes of 10^th grade students at SMAN 5 Padang. One factor could affect the results studied the biological students are external factor including parents participation. This research is descriptive with 334 students of 10^th grade in 2^nd semester 2013/2014 at SMAN 5 Padang as population and 80 students as sample, the sample collection in random sampling that 25% of each class. Variablesof this research are parents participation as variable X and learning outcomes as variable Y. Primary data (parents participation) is obtained using poll and secondary data in from of biology learning outcomes of students from the result of their 1^st daily exam.  The data could be analyzed using correlation Product Moment formula. The result show parent participation is high that 43,75%. Meanwhile students get very good result of biology learning that 11,25%. From whole correlation coefficient calculation is obtained r = 0,519. For indicator correlation coefficient how parents educate is obtained r = 0,468, r = 0,509 for relation between family members, r = 0,496 for the home atmosphere, r = 0,345 for family economic and r = 0,452 for cultural background, next calculation of determinant coefficient show that correlation parents participation with biology learning outcomes is 26,93%.Based on hipothesis is obtained t_calculation> t_table. We can conclude that degree of correlation parents participation with biology learning outcomes of 10^th grade students at SMAN 5 Padang is 95% (α = 0,05).
