Abstrak

Learning to write a narrative essay in elementary school become a burden that is unbelievably complicated for students. To improve the ability to write narrative essays in the fifth grade elementary school classroom action research was conducted using the method of images. The general objective of this study is to describe the process and the resulting increase in narrative essay writing skills in primary school. The specific purpose of this study was to identify the learning outcome of students in learning Indonesian media using images in an increase in the ability to write a narrative essay. Authorship is a narrative essay that describes the chronology of events in a given time series. Authorship narrative divided into two types: narrative, expository and narrative suggestive. This study was conducted by using the method of action research conducted collaboratively through two cycles. From the observations made by the observer and the results of evaluation of students' ability to write narrative essay, an increase in value of 62.5 to 75 in the first cycle and to 95 in the second cycle. So the results of this study it can be concluded that the use of media images can improve the ability of students to write a narrative essay.
