Abstrak

The background of this research background by the lack of activity of students in learning. This
can be seen in the learning process, students   are still many who play with friends sebangkunya.
When doing exercises so that students do not do the exercise  was not completed. So the effect on
student learning outcomes. The purpose of this research is to describe the increase in activity and
learning outcomes of students in the fourth grade social studies learning by using techniques
charades. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) conducted with two cycles of 6
meetings. The subjects were fourth grade students of SDN 07 Ulak Karang  totaling 29 people.
Research instruments is observation sheet student, teacher observation sheet activities, sheets
achievement test, attitude scale sheet. Based on the results of the research cycle I gained an
average of the percentage of students in  doing exercise activity is 48.32  %. The results of
knowledge-level learning is 51.72 %, the level of understanding of learning outcomes and 44.82%
in response to the affective domain of learning is 55.16 %. In the second cycle obtained by the
average percentage of students in doing exercise activity is 91.38 %. Knowledge level learning
outcomes are 93.10%, 86.20  %comprehension level learning outcomes, in response to the
affective domain of learning is 87.93 %. So it can be concluded that learning social studies using
charades techniques can improve the activity and learning outcomes of fourth grade student
