THE EFFECT OF TEACHERS’ COMUNICATION TOWARD THE STUDENTS’ BILOGY STUDY RESULT IN THE SECOND GRADE STUDENTS AT SMPN 18 PADANG

Abstrak

The aim of this research is to see the effect of teachers’ communication toward the students’ bilogy study result in the second grade students at smpn 18 padang. The population of this research was all students in the second grade students at smpn 18 padang in the academic year of 2013/2014. The samples were defined by using random sampling method from each class. The samples were 32 students, taken from 10% from the total of population. The data was collected by spreading out the questionnaires consisting of 40 questions. The data was analyzed by using SPSS 16 program through double linear regression. The result shows the effect of teachers’ communication toward the students’ biology study result in the second grade students at smpn 18 padang based on the sub-variables of the teachers’ communication which was one way communication. the weak correlation was 0,368 p=0,038 with 0,05 reliability standard or 95 % gave contribution (51,1%). The two ways of communication had a strong correlation (0,715 p=0.000) with 0,01 reliability standard or 99,9% gave contribution (8,2%) and many ways of communication had a strong correlation (0,713 p=0,000) with 0,01 reliability standard or 99% and the formula of double linear regression was Y=38,696-0,333x1+0,714x2+0.089, so h1 was accepted. It means that a good communication among teacher will be resulted in a good study result to the students, while a negative communication will be resulted in a bad study result to the students.
