Pengaruh Pendekatan Pembelajaran Problem Solving Dengan Pemberian Tugas Rumah Meringkas Terhadap Hasil Belajar Biologi Siswa Kelas VII SMP 3 Padang

The aim of this research is to see the effect of problem solving approach by giving homework of resuming with the conventional approach toward the biology study result of students in the first grade of SMP 3 Padang. This research is an experimental research using randomize control group only design. The population in this research was all students in the first grade of SPMN 3 Padang registered in academic year of 2013/2014. The samples were taken by using total sampling technique so that VII.5 was the experiment class and VII.3 was the control class. After the analysis of the data, the average score of the experiment class was 81,25 and the average score of the control class was 76,87. Based on the average score and the percentage of the completeness of mastery learning, the experiment class had a higher score and percentage; 81,2%. Meanwhile, the percentage in the control class was 62,5%. For the hypothesis test using t-examiner, it was gotten that t count was 2,34 and t table ( = 0,05) was 1,67. So, it means that t count > t table which then means that h1 was accepted and h0 was rejected. So, using problem solving approach by giving homework of resuming can improve the students’ study result.
