PENINGKATAN AKTIVITAS BELAJAR SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN ILMU PENGETAHUAN SOSIAL DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN STRATEGI LEARNING STARTS WITH A QUESTION DI KELAS V SD NEGERI 23 LOLONG KECAMATAN PADANG UTARA

This research is motivated by the low activity of students in learning social studies as well as teachers tend to use conventional methods. The purpose of this study was to describe the improvement of student learning activities in reading literature, writing questions and answering questions in class V SD Negeri 23 Lolong kecamatan Padang Utara using strategies Learning Starts With a Question. This research is a classroom action research subjects 20 fifth grade students of SD Negeri 23 Lolong kecamatan Padang Utara. The research instrument used in this study is the observation of student activity sheets, teacher observation sheet implementation of learning, and student achievement test. The results obtained, an increase in the percentage of the average score of students in learning activities of reading materials by 50% in the first cycle increased to 100% in the second cycle. Activity of students in writing questions by 40% in the first cycle increased in the second cycle to 92.5%. Activities students answer questions by 35.5% in the first cycle increased in the second cycle to 80%. Based on the research concluded that the teaching of Social Sciences using strategies Learning Starts With a Question can increase the activity of students of class V in SD Negeri 23 Lolong kecamatan Padang Utara .
