This research of background by lack of ability motivation and read class student of IV SDN 35 Pagambiran Padang in course of study. Target of this research is to description of is make-up of ability  motivation and read class student of IV through model of Learning Starts With A Question. Theory of Learning Starts With A Question told by Istarani, while theory read to be used by theory told by Womb and of Tarigan. Method Research the used is method research of class action formulated by Arikunto. This Research is executed in two cycle, each cycle consist of twice meeting. this Research Subjek is class student of IV SDN 35 Pagambiran Padang amounting to 30 people. Research instrument which is used in this research is motivation enquette sheet, activity observation sheet learn and tes result of learning. Pursuant to result of executed research in class of IV SDN 35 Pagambiran Padang, usage of model of Learning proven Starts With A Question can improve ability and motivation read student. This matter can be seen from mean motivate cycle student of I equal to 58,65 mounting to become 72,98 at cycle of II ( increase 14,33%). And ability read student also mount to be seen from result of final tes of cycle student of I with mean assess 58,91 mounting at cycle of II mean assess 72,59 ( increase 13,68%). Pursuant to the mentioned can be concluded that there are make-up of ability motivation and read class student of IV SDN 35 Pagambiran Padang after using model of Learning Starts With A Question.
