THE IMPLEMENTATION OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL WITH GROUP INVESTIGATION (GI) TYPE IN TEACHING BIOLOGY TO STUDENT AT THE CLASS X MAN KOTO SOLOK
Abstrak
The research aims were to know the students’ learning outcome between control class and experimental class, to know the comparison of students’ learning outcome on biology subject between experimental class which applied teaching model of Group Investigation (GI) and control class with conventional model and to know affective and psychomotor aspect in supporting students’ learning outcome in experimental class and control. The type of this research was experimental study with randomized control group posttest only design. Population of this research was all students at class X MAN Solok City in teaching period 2013/2014. Technique of taking sample was taken by purpose sampling. After taking determination the experimental and control class randomly thus obtained class X3 as experimental class and X5 as control class. The hypothesis test was done by using t-test, because all data have normal distribution and homogen variance. From the result of research obtained the average of students’ learning outcome on biology subject by using cooperating learning model with group investigation type was higher than other students without use this model. After analyzing the result of t-test on significant level of 0.05 and degree of freedom = 68 obtained tcount = 4.69 and ttable = 1.68 (tcount > ttable) it means that H1 was accepted, there was significant difference between students’ learning outcome followed teaching model by cooperative teaching model with group investigation type (GI) and students’ learning outcome followed conventional model. Besides that there was significant difference to two aspect of affective and psychomotor of student who followed cooperative teaching model with group investigation type with students’ affective and psychomotor followed conventional teaching model.
