Abstract

This research is motivated by the large number of unemployed in the Kerinci districtin 2010 as many as 5847 people unemployed, in 2011 as many as 6720 people unemployed, in 2012 as many as 6804 people unemployed andin 2013 as many as 7014 people unemployed. The causes of unemployment in Kerinci as little public revenue so low willingness of people towork, limitedemployment opportunities, lowlevels of public educationso that low socioeconomic communities become. This research aims: 1) To describe the influence of tourism onjob creationinKerinci district. 2) Toillustratethe influence of tourism on the community income Kerinci regency. 3) To illustrate the effect of tourism development on the level ofpublic education Kerinci regency. This type of researchis descriptive. Instruments used are observation, questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results ofthis study indicate that the development of tourism can not contribute in reducing the number of unemployed in Kerinci district.
