The research of the Thesis was distributed by the low learning outcomes of students in junior high school especially in 7thgrade.Theteacher are used still dominated in learning process. Learning process is still less interesting and monotone. The purpose of this study was describe the influence of the use of learning methods using the technique to copy the master against students poetry writing skill based on the theory of writing by Semi. Copy the master technique is a technique for learning to write based on the example that has been given. The theory is a advanced by IbnuSuhadi is that quantitative theory by using experimental methods. Based on the result of the research hypothesis t-test formula to t-count = 11,10 on 5% sicnificance level and t-table= 1,67, so 11,10>1,67. Based on the result of the study it can be concluded that with using copy the master technique was giving a significant influence on the ability to write poetry 7thgrade in SMPN 2 LengayangKabupatenPesisir Selatan.
