IKLAN CETAK SAMPOERNA A-MILD: SUATU TINJAUAN SEMANTIK DAN PRAGMATIK

           This research aimed to describe (1) the meaning of printed advertisement of Sampoerna A-Mild reviewed from semantic (2) the meaning of printed advertisement of Sampoerna A-Mild reviewed from pragmatic and (3) the relationship the meaning of semantic and pragmatic the printed advertisement of Sampoerna A-Mild. This research used theory which is stated by Marbun (2005:09) about the meaning of advertisement, Manaf (2008:27) about the meaning of semantic, Saussure (cited in Manaf, 2008:26) about marked and signed, Moris (cited in Purwo, 1995: 15) about the meaning of pragmatic and Manaf about the linked of semantic and pragmatic. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive method. Instrument of this research was researcher-self provided with camera. The data collection was done by taking picture of Sampoerna A-Mild advertisement put on the highway around of Padang City. The research data was analyzed by classifying the meaning of advertisement theme that have been collected, analyze the meaning on printed advertisement of Sampoerna A-Mild reviewed from semantic meaning, analyze the meaning on printed advertisement of Sampoerna A-Mild reviewed from pragmatic meaning, linked semantic meaning and pragmatic meaning of printed advertisement of Sampoerna A-Mild  and take a conclusion based on the result of research. based on the data analysis, can be concluded that the printed advertisement of Sampoerna A-Mild created by advertising producer was aimed to influence costumers (costumer and candidate costumer) on the semantic meaning, the advertisement of Sampoerna A-Mild  have motivation meaning, spirit of life and inspiration for advertising reader. If reviewing from pragmatic side, the advertisement of Sampoerna A-Mild give information to the society that it represents of Sampoerna A-Milds’  advertisement with different appear from other, influence the customer in order want to use their products. Overall, the meaning of semantic and pragmatic of Sampoerna A-Mild advertisement have the same positive meaning (motivation, spirit of life, new inspiration) for advertising readers.
