Abstrak

ABSTRACT

This research has purpose to describe about the usage of language style in an advertisement at singgalang newspaper. The me thod that is used in this research is the me thod that is described by Tarigan  about advertisements, Keraf and Pradopo’s  me thodabout language style. This kind of research is written research that has resuit about descriplive data formed words or directive from persons and behaviour that have been figured out. The result of this research shaws that language style in singgalang newspaper the kinds is variaus, they are (1) Hiperbola language style, (2) Personifikasi language style, (3) pleonasme language  style, (4) Inuendo language style, (5) Tautologi language style, (6) Metonimia language style. And based an this research coud be summarized that the language style that used most in singgalang newspaper is Hiperbola language style, because this Hiperbola language style is describing about something in over way and to streng then the impression so that the reader will be more interested to read the advertisement.
