         This research is motivated by low yields Daily Deuteronomy students at the Basic Competence retell the second graders of SDN 22 Batipuh. It is caused by a learning process that is still centered on the teacher. The teacher does not provide the opportunity for students to spend their views freely in accordance with the student's ability. One of the ways that can be used to overcome this problem is to use a communicative approach. Learning activities are carried out a series of activities that the students participating in learning, giving rise to changes in the dri student learning behavior. The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in activity and talking skills of second grade students of SDN 22 Batipuh through a communicative approach. This research is a classroom action research. Methods This study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Subjects of this study were students of SDN 22 Batipuh class II totaling 27 people. The research instrument was a sheet format speaking students, student activity sheets and a teacher in learning Indonesian with the theme "Purposes". The results showed that the students are going Increased activity in the second cycle, the first cycle of the average percentage of 64, while the second cycle of the average percentage of 83, and the improvement of students' speaking skills contained in the second cycle, the first cycle an average of 42 percentage , while the second cycle on average 81 percentage thus concluded that the activity and class II students' speaking skills can be improved through the communicative approach in SDN 22 Batipuh Kab.Tanah Flat.Â
