This research aimed to describe speech act, context of utterance and implication of politeness in directive utterance in Minangkabau language used children to older people at Kenagarian Ladang Panjang, Kecamatan Tigo Nagari, Kabupaten Pasaman, Provinsi Sumatra Barat. Theory of this research used are theory of Leech (1983) about maxim of politeness and directive utterances type, Hymes (cited from Chaer and Agustina, 2010) about utterances context. The type of this research was qualitative research used descriptive method with informant native people of Kenagarian Ladang Panjang Kecamatan Tigo Nagari, Kabupaten Pasaman, Provinsi Sumatra Barat consisted of higher family, fair and lower. Instrument of this research was researcher was supported by observing sheet, record and questionnaire. From the result of research showed that, (1) the most type of utterance used was confront utterances by using simple word and high intonation while speaking to older, (2) dominant situational context was partners who have higher position, familiar, and utterance did in the form of public mostly, (3) child was not polite in speaking with his partner while principles of politeness was using by children was maxim of charity.
