Abstrak

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to describe the shape of the vocal, consonants and diphthongs of Kerinci language at Tanjung Pauh Mudik of Keliling Danau district of Kerinci Regency in Jambi Province. The theory used in this study was phonological theory proposed by Abdul Chaer. This research was a qualitative study by using descriptive method. Based on the analysis of data was found first, there were 6 pieces composed high vocal /i/ for example on the words /ita/ ‘black’, and, vocals /u/ at word /ula/ ‘Snake’, middle vocals were /e/ in the word /aye/ ‘air’, vocal /o/ in the word /ota?/ ‘otak’, vocal /∂/ in the word /b∂ru?/ ‘heavy’, and low vocal /a/ was found in the word /haraη/ ‘aromatic’. 20 consonants that were 3 pieces of the bilabial consonant, consonant /p/ in the word /putεh/ ‘white’, consonant /b/ in the word /d∂bow/ ‘dust’ and the consonant /m/ on the word /maka/ ‘eat’. 6 pieces of the alveolar consonant It, consonant /t/ for example the word /jahat/ ‘sewing’, consonant /d/ the word /dagon/ ‘meat’. Consonants /s/ on the word  /sakat/ ‘sick’, consonant /r/ on the word /b∂nih/ ‘germ’, consonants /l/ in the word /l∂koh/ ‘dirty’, consonant /n/ the word /Kunan/ ‘yellow’. 11 comprises a stand-alone consonant and consonant /k/ for example, the word /baku/ ‘burn’, the consonant/g/ in the word /g∂tuh/ ‘sap’, consonant /y/ in the word /payo/ ‘umbrella’, consonant /η/ in the word /minaη/ ‘drink’, consonant /c/ in the world /cacan/ ‘worm’, consonant /j/ in words /panja/ ‘long’, consonant /ñ/ in the word /iñaih/ ‘this’, consonant /?/ in the word /saya?/ ‘wing’, consonant /š/ in the word /šilo/ ‘papaya’, consonant /x/ in the word /p∂xa? ‘stomach’, consonant /h/ in the word /basuh/ ‘wet’, dan 10 pieces of diphthongs, namely, /ia/ the word /Sia/ ‘weeded, /ua/ in the word /bulua/ ‘moon’. /au/ in the word /kusau?/ ‘tootbrush’, /ai/ in the word /tipaih/ ‘thin’, /ae/ in the word /kae/ ‘cloth’, /oi/ in the word /baloi?/ ‘return’, /ow/ the word /abow/ ‘dust’, /aw/ In the word /akaw/ ‘I’, /ay/ in the word /apay/ ‘fire’, and /oy/ in the word /Gudoy/ ‘dirty’. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that, The phonology was found in the village of Tanjung Pauh Mudik Keliling Danau Kerinci District of Kerinci Regency in Jambi Province composed 6 vocals, 20 consonants, 10 diphthongs and 30 data.
