This research of background by the low activity of the students, this is due to the teacher in the learning of mathematics are still using the conventional method that is by giving examples of problem-solving and assigning students to make exercise. Teacher not involve students active learning. The purpose of this study is to describe the general increace in student activity in learning mathematics through active learning strategies type quiz team in the classroom V SD N 05 Surabayo Lubuk Basung Agam. This research is a classroom action research. This study was conducted in two cycles with each cyle of two meetings. The subjects were teachers and students of class V, which amounts to 18 people.
The research instrument using the observation of aspects and student activity sheets. Based on yhe results of research conducted, it can be see the percentage of student activity in the first cycle percentage obtained is 50,00 % less entry criteria and increased in the second cycle becomes 80,56% quality as well. Â Activities of teacher in the first cycle percentage is 71,43% obtained sufficient criteria and increased in the second cycle becomes 86,91% both criteria. Based on the results of this study concluded hat student activity can be enhanced through active learning strategy type quiz team.
