MAKNA IDIOM DALAM TABLOID GAUL SEBUAH TINJAUAN SEMANTIK

This research is motivated by the use of idioms that are often found in the tabloids, one of the tabloids that can be viewed and read by the people of Indonesia is tabloid Gaul. the purpose of this study is was to describe the form of idioms and their meanings. The theory used in this study is the theory proposed by Moh. Kusnadi Wasrie and several other supporting theories regarding  that idioms and its meaning in terms of semantic aspect. This study is a qualitative research that generates verbal data in the form of words written and spoken observable. The method used in this research is descriptive method that how to collect, identify, analyze data, and make conclusions. Object of this study is a tabloid edition Gaul 19-23. The results of this study totaling 73 discovery idiom. Idioms consisting of body parts found as 35 idioms, idioms with the word senses as much as 9 idiom, idioms with color name as one idiom, idiom with names of naturals objects as much as 16 idioms, idioms with names of animals as much as 6 idioms, idioms with body parts-plant as much as 3 idiom, and idioms with the numbers as much as 3 idioms. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the idiom is found in Gaul tabloid form idioms with body parts, idioms with word senses, idioms with color names, idioms with names of natural objects, idioms with animal names, idioms with the vegetation plants, and idioms with to the word number. Idioms that have already been found in hearing and in use in the community.
