KEMAMPUAN MENULIS PUISI SISWA KELAS VIII DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN TEKNIK OBJEK LANGSUNG DI SMP NEGERI 4 PARIAMAN

This research is caused by the lack of writing poetry skill of the student’s in SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman on the first grade students of . The purpose of this research is to describe the students' skill in writing poetry with the direct object is viewid from the theme, diction and imagery. The theory is used as a reference in this study are: (1) Hendry Guntur Tariqan (2008) on writing, (2) Rahmat Djoko Pradopo (1993) about poetry, (3) Suyatno (2004) on learning to write poetry with a direct object. The kind of this research in qualitative descriptive method. The research object is the student in SMP Negeri  4 on the first grade , at Pariaman Kota district in 2014/2015, they are 29 students. The way to collect data in this research are (1) gathering the student’s poetry, (2)  identification of theme, diction and imagery, (3) ) analysis the theme, diction, and imagery, (4) describe the student’s skill, (5) make a conclution of data analysis. Based on the result of data analysis there are some conciutions: (1) the student’s skill in the first grade based on theme is more then enough with the average 79,2 (2) the student’s skill in the first grade based on diction is more then enough with the average 72,1 (3) the ability of eighth grade students seen from the aspect of imagery that is simply the average value of 62.8. Well, the conciution of the result student’s skill on the first grade  in writing a poetry with direct object is viewed from the aspect of theme, diction and imagery is enough with the average 71,0
