Abstract
The purpose of this research is to increase interest and students' writing skills class of VI through Explicit Instruction learning model in SDN 31 Kumpulan Banang. This study conducted two cycles, each cycle consisting of two sessions. The theory used in this study is the theory proposed by Slameto (2010) and Istarani (2012). This study is a class action research (PTK) using qualitative and quantitative methods. From the analysis of the questionnaire sheet student interest earned average percentage in the first cycle was 68.87%, while the second cycle the average percentage obtained was 83.84%. From the research, the average obtained by the student's writing skills with the first cycle of 61.73 percentage passing grade of 43% and an average writing skills of students 77 second cycle with 87% percentage of mastery learning. From the results of research concluded that Explicit Instruction learning model of can increase interest and students' writing skills class of VI in SDN 31 Kumpulan Banang.
