PENINGKATAN PARTISIPASI DAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS V SDN 15 LUBUK ALUNG MELALUI PENDEKATAN REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION (RME)

Abstract
This research is motivated by low participation and learning outcomes of students in learning mathematics. Formulation of the problem of this research is how the increased participation and learning outcomes in the fifth grade students approach learning mathematics through Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). This research is a classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles, the first cycle and second cycle consists of three meetings. Subjects of this study were fifth grade students of SDN 15 Lubuk Alung totaling 25 people. Based on the observation sheet participation of students in the first cycle, obtained for indicators of students asking questions 37.33%, 33.33% students express opinions, and to the student conduct group discussions 82.67%. While in the second cycle, students ask questions to 74.67%, 73.33% students express opinions and students carry out group discussions 77.33%. Based on the learning outcomes of students obtained an average percentage in the first cycle was 68.64% and 80.35% in the second cycle. It can be concluded that the use of RME approach can improve participation and outcomes of learning mathematics fifth grade students of SDN 15 Lubuk Alung. It is advisable to be able to use the RME approach in other subject matter that may increase participation and learning outcomes of elementary mathematics.
