PENGGUNAAN DIKSI DAN GAYA BAHASA DALAM NOVEL KITAB CINTA YUSUF ZULAIKHA KARYA TAUFIQURRAHMAN AL-AZLZY

ABSTRACT

 

This research was motivated because the diction and style of the language used by the author on the novel so be careful, because the novel was inspired by the story of the prophet of Yusuf and Zulaikha with the title Kitab Cinta Yusuf Zulaikha. The purpose of this research was to describe the form of diction and style, and function of them on the novel of Kitab Cinta Yusuf  Zulaikha. This research used diction theory was stated by Imron Al-Ma'ruf and theory of language style was stated by Gorys Keraf. This research was a qualitative study by using descriptive method. Based on the results of data analysis were found first, 94 sentences containing diction, and more predominantly diction was found on the novel is the connotative words and uptake words from Arabic. While rare diction was found on greeting words, vulgar words and concrete words. Secondly, the style of language was found about 79, where the dominant language style was the style of language like hyperbole, simile, personification and style. While rarely style of language was found on anastrophe pleonasm, redundancy, rhetorical, litotes, Zeugma, and irony. Third, the function of diction and style of language on the novel was to provide the aesthetic value and to express the mood or state of mind in figures by the author. Thus the use of diction and style of language on the novel Kitab Cinta YusufZulaikha overall was more varieties.
