Abstract
This research is motivated by the learning process has not gone as expected. The author is not using the right approach in the learning process, do not give directly to the student experience. In the only study authors encourage students to think abstractly. This study aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes first grade SDIT Marhamah Mekah I MuaralabuhSolok Selatan using Realistic Mathematics Education Approach (RME) which is an approach using realistic problems as a starting base of learning. This research is Classroom Action Research is located in SDIT Marhamah Muaralabuh Solok Selatan, subjects were students in the first grade Mekah I totaling 21 student, which the study was conducted in two cycles. The instrument in this tests student learning outcomes and teacher observation sheet activities. The findings showed that the use of RME approach can improve the learning outcomes of mathematics. This increase can be seen from the average of the cognitive aspects of student learning outcomes first cycle 42,8% increased to 80% in the second cycle with an increase in 32,7%. Based on the research and findings can be concluded that RME approach can improve learning outcomes in first grade I SDIT Marhamah Mekah I Muaralabuh Solok Selatan, and can be used as an alternative to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics.
