Abstrak

 

Researchers in the field is motivated by the fact that less intensive reading ability in grade IV Elementary School District of IX Koto 09 Pianggu Lasi River Solok, due to lack of activity the students to read. Therefore, research that aims to improve students' skills in reading activity intensified in the fourth grade IX Koto 09 Pianggu District of Solok Sungai Lasi using strategies Reading Guide. Theory in gunkan in this research is the theory of reading by using the strategy Reading Guide. Using research is classroom action research, research done by the teacher in the class itself through self-reflection, with the aim to improve its performance as educators so that the study of students increased. Implementation of the strategy Reading Guide using the reading process in three stages, namely prabaca, saatbaca and pascabaca. The results showed that an increase in the ability of reading in learning to read intensive. This is evidenced by the increase in value results can be students, the number of students 18 people, from the average test scores in the first cycle was 60 and increased in the second cycle is 78.89. In the first cycle prabaca activity assessment was 17.28, 18.50 and pascabaca saatbaca ie 20.96 with a total value of 56.7. Increased in the second cycle with the acquisition value prabaca 23.98, 22.83 and pascabca saatbaca 27.76 with a total value of 74. Based on this strategy can be said Reading Guide can improve the ability of intensive reading of fourth grade students.
