Abstrak

Learning process in XI IPS SMAN 12 Mukomuko is concentrated in only one way approach. The activities and participation of the students is still in low condition. The students are still in lower motivation. They are not very interested in the lesson the have. Sometimes the are quite lazy and completing their tasks. Nevertheless, the learning result is not satisfaction. This problem can be solved with several approaches, one of these is active learning strategy which is known as Guide Note Taking followed by some quiz in mathematic subject.

This approach encourages students to be active and have higher motivation in studying mathematic.

Based on the analyze on the students final evaluation in two classes, it is obvious that the Guide Note Taking strategy produces students who are more active in motivated in studying mathematic rather than applying the previous conventional lerning.
