Abstrak

The lowness of mathematicslearning outcome of State Junior High School 1’s students class IX, North Bayang mainly is caused by the teaching learning process that is using the teacher-center learning. Students are not active enough during the teaching-learning process. It leads to lack of interaction both between teacher and studentsand among students. Therefore, the teacher is expected to be able to apply the teaching-learning method which can increase the students’ activity and their mathematics learning outcome. One of the ways is by applying the Quantum TeachingMethod.The purpose of this study is to determine the activity development and the mathematics learning outcome of these students. Whether there is an increase of the learning outcome when the teacher use the conventional teaching-learning method and after employing the TANDUR Guideline of the Quantum Teaching Method.It is an experiment study. The population are students from three classes of class IX State Junior High School 1, North Bayang year 2014/ 2015. The sample is chosen randomly out of two different classes. Class IX1 is taken as the experiment class, and class IX2 as the control one. The test which is conducted to these two classes results a normal distribution of the learning outcome data and has a homogeneous variation. Then, the hypothesis is examined by t-test. The data analysis obtains the value of tcount = 3.376 and ttable= 1.6875. It can be said that the students who apply the TANDUR Guideline of Quantum Teaching method has performed better than those who apply the conventional one.
