Abstrak

The background of this study was low students logic thinking ability  in math for class V at SDN 10 Sungai Sapih Padang. The aim of this study was to describe the upgrading of students’ logic thinking ability in math subject for class V through Discovery Learning model at SDN 10 Sungai Sapih Padang. The types of this study was action research. This study was done in two cycles. The sample of this research was students class V at SDN 10 Sungai Sapih Padang and the total numbers of student were 42 students. Instrument used in this study was observation of teacher activity, the assessment rubric of logic thinking ability and logic thinking ability test. Based on analysis of students’ logic thinking ability , the percentage of students’ score in each cycles was upgrading. In the first cycle 63,82% getting 79,75% in the second cycle. From the data, it can be concluded that there was an upgrading of students’ logic thinking ability in math subject for class V at SDN 10 Sungai Sapih Padang after used Discovery Learning model. The using of Discovery Learning model also can be used for another subject by using more interesting way in order get a good result.
