Abstract

 

The purpose of this study was to describe the learning outcome of students in science subjects through a model of Discovery Learning in Elementary School fourth grade 16 East Sikapak Pariaman. This research is a classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings and one final exam cycle. The subjects were fourth grade students of SDN 16 Sikapak East, which numbered 20 people. The research instrument used is the observation sheet affective student, teacher observation sheet aspects, the test results of students' cognitive learning, field notes, and cameras. Based on students' test results, obtained an average of 72.75 in the first cycle increased to 80.75 in the second cycle with the percentage of mastery learning students in the first cycle of 60% increased to 80% in the second cycle. Based on the results of students' affective domain observation sheet, obtained an average percentage of students in the first cycle 68.12% increase to 84.68%. This means that learning science through the model of Discovery Learning can improve learning outcomes fourth grade students of SD Negeri 16 East Sikapak Pariaman. Based on these results, the researchers suggested that teachers can use the model of Discovery Learning in learning to improve student learning outcomes.
