This study aims to determine the correlation of the use of the school library and academic achievement biology class VII Junior High School 1 Painan. This is a descriptive study with a population of 239 students of class VII Junior High School 1 Painan enrolled in the second semester of 2014/2015, with a sample of 48 students. The variables of this study is the use of the library as a variable X and learning achievement as a variable Y. the type of data consists of library utilization data (primary data) obtained by using questionnaires and secondary data from biology learning achievement of the students in question were obtained from the biology teacher. The sampling technique using random sampling. Data were analyzed by using Product Moment Correlation formula. rom the research shows that there is a positive relationship with the utilization of biology student learning achievement. Overall variable positive relationship with the school library utilization biology student learning achievement obtained by calculating the correlation coefficient is r = 0.635. Furthermore, the calculation of the coefficient of determination shows that the positive relationship with the school library utilization biology student learning achievement of 40.3%. Obtained by the equation y = 1,011x + 14.39. Tcount (5.570)> t table (1.677), suggesting that there is a positive correlation between the use of the school library and academic achievement biology class VII Junior High School 1 Painan (α = 0.05).
