Abstrak

ABSTRACT

This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning model of the learning outcomes biology class X of SMAN 1 Palembayan. This study is experimental with randomized research design Posttest Only Control Group Design. Population in this research is class X of SMAN 1 Palembayan. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique that is based on the average value is almost the same classes used a sample class. Furthermore, the technique of random to determine the experimental class and control class then obtained a class X IPA1 as experimental class and the class X IPA3 as the control class. Instrument used in this research is to test student learning outcomes while data analysis techniques using t test. Based on the research results obtained by the average value of the experimental class was 78.6 and 73 in the control class, seen from the results of data analysis has been done obtained t (1,89)> t table (1.68), then the hypothesis is accepted. Likewise, on the assessment of affective experimental class 82.6 and 79.3 in the control group and the experimental classroom psychomotor assessment 85 and 79.3 in the control class. From the results of this study concluded that the presence of significant positive effect on problem based learning models for biology student learning outcomes. It is recommended at a biology teacher to be able to apply the model of Problem Based Learning in the learning process. Keywords: Model problem based learning, learning outcomes.
