Abstrak

This research is motivated by low motivation and student learning outcomes in learning mathematics. The purpose of this research is to improve motivation and student learning outcomes in mathematics in grade IV SDN 23 Batang Anai using problem based learning model. This study was conducted in two cycles. From the research results of fourth grade students of SDN 23 Batang Anai numbered 35 people. The instrument used is the observation sheet activities of teacher, student motivation questionnaire and achievement test. Based on the activity sheet the percentage of teachers in each cycle has increased. In the first cycle the average percentage of teachers' activities was 73.21% increased to 89.28% in the second cycle, and the percentage of student motivation in the first cycle ie 60% increase to 71% in the second cycle. Based on research carried, the percentage of students' mathematical completeness first cycle ie 68.57% increase to 91.42% thus it can be concluded that the study of mathematics problem based learning model can improve motivation and learning outcomes of fourth grade students of SDN 23 Batang Anai. Based on the results of this study researchers suggest that teacherscan menerapkam model of problem-based learning in mathematics learning properly in accordance with the material being taught.
